The pixel cat painted in the center is made up of small, sharply defined squares of color, while the surrounding light green surface spreads out in a thick mass, almost like frosting or melting ice cream. In the work, the precision of a digital image meets the physicality of paint. A pixel is essentially an immaterial and mathematical unit, but when painted by hand, it becomes an imprecise, individual trace. The surrounding impasto surface, in turn, emphasizes everything that a screen image lacks: weight, thickness, shine, and tactile structure. The playful cat figure and the ice cream-like color scheme make the juxtaposition delicious and slightly absurd. The work moves between digital nostalgia, materiality, and the pleasure of painting.
