Tiramisu Misu is constructed of horizontal tones of almost the same brightness and thick paint flowing over them. The subdued tones of coffee, cocoa and strawberry in the background create a steady rhythm, which the cat figure breaks with its material weight. The cat is created by pouring and mixing paint directly onto the surface. The form is at once recognizable and disintegrating: the figure seems to melt, flow and turn back into paint. The title of the work plays with the taste of tiramisu and the pet name for the cat, “misu”. The pictorial subject and the physical essence of the paint blend together in such a way that it is not entirely clear whether we are looking at a cat, a dessert or just a dye.
