Approaching #FACADE (Float) is made up of pink and dark red planes floating on top of each other. They simultaneously resemble the facade of a building, the layers and the structures of a digital image. The starting point of the work is the hex color code #FACADE, which precisely defines the RGB color pink. In painting, however, this color is only sought: pigment, light, base and brushstroke make each shade material and changeable. The word facade refers to the surface, to what is shown and viewed. Float, in turn, denotes a way of placing elements in relation to each other, familiar from both floating and programming. In painting, the digital rule is transformed into space, gesture and imprecision. The viewer is not actually looking at #FACADE, but rather its corporeal counterpart.
