The work is based on the hex color code #FACADE, which defines an exact digital color. In painting, this color is approached by mixing pigments, but it is never fully achieved. The numerically defined color on the screen becomes a substance in the painting, where the hue is influenced by pigment, light, base and brushstroke. The grid of the painting is reminiscent of pixels, user interfaces and the facade of a building at the same time. The work moves between a digital system and a hand-made image: the exact value and its material approximation. #FACADE acts as a goal that the painting can approach again and again without ever being quite the same.
